Codecs are files which allow your media player to play files encoded in various formats. For example in order to play .avi files you will need to have the xvid codec installed. If the codec is missing your media player will not play the file and may give an error message.

To download a video Right Click on the movie link and then click on "Save target as" or "Save Link As" depending on your browser. You'll be prompted to choose a folder where to save the video on your computer and when the video is downloaded it will be ready to play. Note that some browser settings will launch your media player by Left Clicking on the video link, this way you wont be able to save the video on your hard drive but will be able view the video streaming.

You might be missing a Codec to view the video.
The easiest fix is to install one of the following video players. They include all codecs necessary, and are free ! Media Player Classic (Windows only) VLC player (all operating systems) |
The default Windows Media Player should be able to play all kinds of supported files if the correct video codecs are installed. In case Windows Media Player is not able to play the video even if the codecs are installed then we suggest you use VLC Player which is available for all major platforms and can be downloaded at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
VLC Player does not require any additional codecs to play video files. |
Right Click on the video link and then click on "Save target as" or "Save Link As" depending on your browser. You'll be prompted to choose a folder where to save the video (Remember where you saved the video) on your computer and when it is downloaded it will be ready to play.

Some of the players cannot play certain files. These files can be played via VLC player available for free here.
